Fahim Ibrahim.INTRODUCTION An unspecified planet (a parallel earth) in the wake of twin catastrophes; a nuclear disaster and the melting of the polar ice caps survivors refer to as the Apocalypse. The combination of flooding and fall-out has severely reduced the size of inhabitable land. Saberians (identical in appearance to humans) emerge after the fall-out into an arid region of rocks and sand known as the Wastelands. It is littered with remnants of a civilisation (comparable with the present day on our own earth), that survivors recall as the Old World.
